Quinta da Regaleira (pre-book) — the initiation wells, the Gothic chapel, the grounds. Manageable with a carrier for under-2s. Return to Lisbon or stay overnight.
If staying: early dinner at Restaurante Tulhas in the village — local food, family portions, excellent value.
Pena Palace
Tuk-tuk from village to Pena Palace at 9am (pre-book timed entry for 10am). Walk the palace exterior — the colours, the towers, the views below the clouds.
